An otome visual novel... with RPG mechanics.

Japanese company 5pb (recently responsible for publishing Steins;Gate and Dunamis 15) have just released a trailer for a new otome game developed by Rejet. The game is titled Beyond the Future: Fix the Time Arrows - one that 5pb has described as "a maiden adventure with the worldview of a fantasy RPG."

The game follows the adventures of a girl named Lillith in the fantasy world of Anelheid. Along with all the usual different endings, characters, and events that visual novels feature, Beyond the Future: Fix the Time Arrows includes a menu mechanic where you can actually physically check what the male love interests think of Lillith. These stats are known as the 'Sacred Gauge.' Reportedly the soundtrack will also have an 'RPG feel' to it.

The game is in development for both the PSP and PS3, and due for release in Japan in December 1st of this year. The standard PS3 edition will cost 7,140 yen ($93 US) , while the special edition comes in at 9,240 yen ($120 US). The regular PSP edition is priced at 6,090 yen ($79 US), and the limited edition at 8,190 yen ($105 US).
