Final Fantasy Tactics: The War of the Lions iOS Out This Week
Naturally, Famitsu has already played it.

Just last week, Square Enix announced that the long-awaited iOS port of Final Fantasy Tactics: The War of the Lions was submitted to Apple, which no doubt meant that the game would be out soon. Today on Facebook, they confirmed that release is in fact this week. Dated for August 4th (that's Thursday!), this version will be for iPhone (4 and 3GS) and iPod Touch, with an iPad version on its way in about a month.

Square says they actually tried to run it on an iPhone 3G, but it was simply too slow. However, the retina display is supported, load times are definitely improved over the PSP version, and they were able to include a save feature and keep the English voiceovers. On the other hand, they had to cut out the multiplayer portion of the game.
