Square Enix Has More Chaos Rings Coming Your Way
Prequel and sequel on the way, one quite soon!

Well well, it looks like Square Enix must have been pleased with the reception to their original iOS RPG Chaos Rings. Released almost exactly a year ago on April 20th, it was the company's first real RPG made for the platform (ports aside), and was generally well-received by many. Enough that an iPad-ready version followed in August.

Anyway, today's news comes via Famitsu, who reports that Square Enix is prepping a prequel to Chaos Rings, titled Chaos Rings Omega (with 'omega' being the last letter in the Greek alphabet, it doesn't sound like a PREquel, does it?) that's due for release in May. That's presumably in Japan, so we're not yet sure what the North American release plan is, nor anything else about the title yet, for that matter.

The other development that's lacking information is a sequel to the original, titled - appropriately enough - Chaos Rings II. Square Enix simply ran a teaser ad confirming the title, but released no other details.

If Chaos Rings Omega sticks to its May release date, we expect to have more information to share with you on one or both titles soon. In the meantime, take a look at our reviews of both the big- and small-screen versions of the original Chaos Rings, below.
