Steambot Chronicles 2 Officially Cancelled
Irem issues an apology, but no explanation.

In case you thought Famitsu's announcement that Bumpy Trot 2 (Steambot Chronicles 2)'s cancellation might be an early April Fool's Day joke, Irem has bad news for you. According to the games' website, the cancellation is indeed official, and while the publisher apologized to fans and thanked them for their support for past titles, they didn't give any real reason. Post-earthquake Japan has seen a number of delays and cancellations, especially for games whose material might hit a little too close to home in the natural disasters' aftermath (such as the Disaster Report series, which was also published by Irem).

Atlus USA brought the first Steambot Chronicles to western PlayStation 2s back in 2006. Its sequel was also announced at Tokyo Game Show in 2006, initially as a PlayStation 2 title. After some delays, it got re-announced two years later as being for the PlayStation 3 instead. There was also a PlayStation Portable spin-off called Steambot Chronicles Battle Tournament.
