A Hearty Soundtracks Update: Shining/Kingdom Hearts
The glorious of return of Hiroki Kikuta, and more from Shimomura-san!
02.06.11 - 8:19 PM

While Hiroki Kikuta, the composer best known for his work on Secret of Mana, technically made his return to VGM in 2007 with the small MMORPG Concerto Gate, history may instead pinpoint 2011 as the year of Kikuta's return to VGM proper. This is, of course, thanks to his new two disc soundtrack for Sega's PSP RPG Shining Hearts. This soundtrack was just released in Japan on February 2nd, and we're happy to provide a review with audio samples today. Be sure to check it out!

Also, editor Stephen Meyerink has a soundtrack review for the original Kingdom Hearts. But it's not the Japanese import soundtrack, no. It's the *European* import soundtrack. How does that make any difference? I'll give you a two-word hint: Simple, Clean.

We're posting the latter soundtrack review to help whet your appetite for the newest soundtrack in the series: Kingdom Hearts Birth By Sleep & 358/2 Days Original Soundtrack. This three disc set is also quite new, and Mr. Meyerink is listening through it even as I write this to prepare yet another "hearty" review. Be watching for it!
