Aralon: Sword and Shadow Gallery Debut
Is that a Western RPG in your pocket, or...
10.07.10 - 10:22 PM

Aralon: Sword and Shadow was actually announced almost a year ago, and the game has been through some drastic visual changes over the course of its development, all for the better. When the title resurfaced in May 2010, it brought with it a high level of graphic polish, and, along with titles such as Ossian's The Shadow Sun and Epic's Project Sword, are pointing to a bright future for the marriage of iOS devices and Western RPGs.

Aralon is in development by both Galoobeth Games and Crescent Moon Games, the latter of which brought us Ravensword: The Fallen King (acclaimed by many as one of the premier RPGs on the iPhone and iPod touch) and its forthcoming sequel. As you'll see in the gallery, the game is shaping up well visually, and word is a trailer is being put together, so hopefully we'll see that soon.

No word on a release date, or even what devices the game will support - will we see Retina Display or iPad versions? One can hope. The developers did mention back in May plans to work on the game for the following "four months or so," so there's a chance a fall release is in the cards.

In any case, look for much more coverage of Aralon: Sword and Shadow as its uncertain release draws near.
