FDG Brings Across Age HD to iPad
A gorgeous game becomes… uh, gorgeouser. Also bigger.

Released in February, FDG Entertainment's Across Age quickly won over RPG fans with its 16-bit charm and innovative gameplay mechanics. Following the release of the iPad this spring, many were interested in seeing the game on the device's larger screen, and today their patience pays off: Across Age HD has hit the App Store. As usual, New Zealand saw the game first for time zone reasons. In New Zealand, the game costs $10.99, and the US version is $7.99 USD.

One of the iPad version's biggest draws are the graphics: This isn't simply a scaled-up iPhone game. Everything in Across Age HD was redrawn to fit the larger screen, and this attention to detail shows. Additionally, the game features a brand new dungeon complete with new boss, and an "improved battle system," though details on that are sparse right now.

If you're new to the platform or haven't even heard of Across Age in general before, take a look at both Neal's review of the iPhone/iPod touch version below, and a new gallery for Across Age HD.

And while it's not a new trailer, I still get a kick out of this 'commercial' for the original Across Age:
