DeathSpank Sequel Announced
I didn't realize thongs were at all virtuous.

Following the success of the rather amusing action RPG DeathSpank, Hothead Games and EA yesterday announced a sequel, titled DeathSpank: Thongs of Virtue. The followup will continue where the original left off, exploring the postwar wastelands, including the North Pole and the seas on a quest to find and destroy a set of thongs that were to bring peace and harmony. Originally nine thongs were supposed to be made, but after some marketing issues, only six were actually produced, and the result was anything but peaceful and harmonious. Though the thongs promise great power to the wearer, they also corrupt them - unless, of course, you're DeathSpank.

The game will feature a two-player mode where the second player can choose from one of two of DeathSpank's sidekicks. Sparkles the Wizard unsurprisingly specializes in magic, and Steve comes with 'ninjatastic' kung-fu moves.

DeathSpank: Thongs of Virtue will be available for download on September 21st on the PlayStation Network for $14.99 US, and September 22nd on Xbox Live Arcade for 1200 Microsoft Points.
