Square Enix Brings Chaos Rings to iPad
As promised, the HD version of Squeenix's iOS RPG is starting to appear in iTunes.

Ever since Square Enix and Media.Vision released Chaos Rings for the iPhone and iPod touch, they've been teasing the potential of a "Chaos Rings HD" for that third iOS device, the iPad.

Earlier today, the New Zealand App Store saw the addition of Chaos Rings for iPad, with US and UK releases expected late tonight. The only listed enhancement for the iPad version is native support for the device's 1024x768 resolution. There may be more in store for the game later, though that alone should be enticing enough for people who don't want to play a pixel-doubled iPhone version.

Chaos Rings for iPad currently sells for $19.99 NZ$, which is roughly $14 USD, meaning the high-res version only commands about a dollar premium over its little sibling. The actual pricing outside of New Zealand of course remains to be seen. The game can be purchased now in iTunes (keep in mind this link points to the New Zealand App Store).

As Square Enix often does with new releases, all of their other iOS games are on sale for the next two weeks. Chaos Rings (non-HD), notably, is now $9.99 USD.

This excellent and timely news was brought to our attention via a forum moderator (ImNoSuperMan) over at TouchArcade.

UPDATE: Wow, my timing is horrible! Literally as I wrote this story, Chaos Rings for iPad appeared in the US App Store. Available for $15.99, the game is available here, and now.
