Famitsu has spilled the details on another upcoming title from Square Enix. The company is working on a new version of Tactics Ogre, which was released in 1995 for the Super Famicom. Entitled Tactics Ogre: The Wheel of Fortune, the game is being developed for the PSP by the same staff who created the original: director Hiroshi Minagawa, game designer Yasumi Matsuno, composers Hitoshi Sakimoto and Masaharu Iwata, and character artists Tsubasa Masao and Akihiko Yoshida.

Don't call it a remake, though! The developers insist that the game is a complete "rebuilding" of Tactics Ogre, complete with 3D graphics, new classes, new skill-based gameplay features, and more. However, great care is being taken to retain the aesthetic quality of the Super Famicom original. Designer Matsuno says that he wants players to appreciate the differences between the two games, and describes the development process as such: "If you developed and played Tactics Ogre in this day and age, it would be like this."

No release date information is available at this time, although Square Enix has also confirmed that the game will actually be released in North America under its original Japanese title, Tactics Ogre: Let Us Cling Together. Check back with RPGFan for the latest news on this intriguing title.
