We at RPGFan do our best to give a game a fair shake before doling out judgment. Sometimes, we have to say what we feel must be said, even if it hurts some feelings or dissuades people from playing the game. Such was the case with Dungeon Fighter Online, an Action-based MMORPG from Nexon. Bob Richardson, one of our newest recruits, said the game had a lot of potential, but said potential was being wasted.

The review got the attention of Nexon America's staff, and after some talking, we decided to do a formal interview.

Please note: one of Nexon's key points in this interview is that Dungeon Fighter Online is still in "open beta." However, that doesn't stop them from offering a microtransaction-based shop for the game. In our eyes, if you can make money off the game, it's no longer beta. Hence the review, and perhaps the root of the conflict in our two points of view.

The good news is that all of this led to a very productive chat with Luis Reyes, one of the producers for Dungeon Fighter Online. We also had the opportunity to ask about other aspects of Nexon America, including their most popular title, MapleStory. All in all, we are happy to have had this conversation and now we're glad to share it with you.
