Final Fantasy XIV PC Release Date Announced
As well as a collector's edition.

Square Enix today announced that its highly anticipated MMORPG, Final Fantasy XIV will be released for the PC this fall. The global release is set for September 30th of this year and retail for $49.99 US for the standard edition. As well, there will be a collector's edition, which will release eight days earlier on September 22nd and cost $74.99 US. The collector's edition, whose box features artwork from Yoshitaka Amano, includes a behind-the-scenes DVD with exclusive content, a hardcover bound travel journal with some artwork from the game, a security token, and a voucher for a personalized 'Right of Passage' certificate.

Those who pre-order the standard edition will receive a coupon for an in-game item, the Garlond Goggles; and for the collector's edition, an Onion Helm. Both editions include 30 days of free gameplay; after that, the monthly subscription price is $12.99 US.

The beta phase for the PC version of Final Fantasy XIV will start next month. A PS3 version is expected sometime in March 2011.
