Square Enix Brings Games to the iPad
A wild iPad approaches!
05.28.10 - 11:14 PM

Today, Square Enix released two new iPad apps to celebrate the release of Apple's iPad in Japan. The first, a re-release of the Final Fantasy XIII Larger-than-Life Gallery, originally for iPhone, is a digital photo album and calendar that features a variety of character art from the game. The increased screen size and resolution of the iPad works well with the high-resolution art included in the app, and the updated version contains new art including one 3D image (3D glasses not included). The second new app is called Chocobo Panic. Up to two players can compete to see who can catch more chocobos in the allotted time. The two apps are currently available on the iTunes App Store for $5.99 and $3.99.

Square Enix also announced that it will bring more games to the iPad in the future, starting with ports of their popular iPhone games Crystal Defenders, a Final Fantasy Tactics themed tower defense game; and Chaos Rings, the critically acclaimed iPhone RPG from Wild Arms developers Media.Vision. Release dates and pricing have not yet been revealed, but expect more information soon.
