Soundtrack Reviews: Professor Layton Trilogy
02.27.09 - 5:20 PM

You know the trilogy, right? Professor Layton and the Curious Village is the only one to have reached America so far. But we have hopes that Professor Layton and Pandora's Box (the second game) and Professor Layton and the Last Time Travel (the third game) will someday see an English release.

Until then, we at least have coverage of all the music.

The first game's soundtrack is covered by editor Kyle Miller. I took the liberty of reviewing the other two soundtracks in the trilogy. And, as a bonus, I also put together a review of the promotional "Trilogy" CD, which has the opening themes from each of the three games.

Tomohito Nishiura, the in-house composer at Level-5, has a mixed reputation around these parts. Let's see if he can boost his popularity with this tripartite work!

In our next soundtracks update, we will (again) be devoting ourselves to one composer's body of work. But this time, it's an American, and his body of work spans a full decade's worth of PC and console RPGs. Be ready for it, as it's coming quite soon.
