Square Enix is working on a DS-based remake of Saga 2: Hihou Densetsu. Titled Saga 2: Hihou Densetsu Goddess of Destiny, the new version of 1990's GameBoy RPG, is to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the series' debut in 1989. The remake will boast updated visuals, revamped systems as well as a multiplayer mode supporting up to four players.

The game's executive producers are SaGa series mastermind Akitoshi Kawazu and Hiromichi Tanaka (producer of Xenogears, Chrono Cross, Final Fantasy XI). Production and supervision duties are handled by Hiroyuki Miura and Youichi Yoshimoto (UNLIMITED: SaGa, Musashi series). Last but not least, veteran composer Kenji Itou (SaGa and Seiken Densetsu series) and Gen Kobayashi (Subarashiki Kono Sekai, Musashiden 2) are responsible for the soundtrack and character designs, respectively.

Saga 2: Hihou Densetsu Goddess of Destiny will be available in Japan this fall.
