Namco Bandai Games America officially announced today that they would be bringing the Softmax-developed Xbox 360 title Magnacarta 2 to North America sometime in 2009. Based on Unreal Engine3, Magnacarta 2 features the artwork of Hyung-Tae Kim and an action-oriented battle system. One of Magnacarta 2's main features is its seamless blending of battle and world navigation, with no load times in between the two. Similarly to Final Fantasy XII, players will be able to assign AI attributes to their allies, but can actively control any ally at will.

"Magnacarta 2 takes a cue from the traditional RPG genre with its gripping storyline and compelling characters, yet takes a progressive approach to gameplay design and style," said Todd Thorson, Director of Marketing and Public Relations, Namco Bandai Games America. "The faster-paced battle system, flexible options and seamless battlefield navigation deliver a less-restrictive, more engaging gameplay experience."

Magnacarta 2 will be released for the XBox 360 sometime later this year.
