Tecmo and RED Team up for DS RPG
07.05.08 - 11:34 AM

Tecmo and RED Entertainment announced an original DS RPG, titled Nostalgio no Kaze (Wind of Nostalgio). The game is developed by Matrix, the studio behind the DS remakes of Final Fantasy III and Final Fantasy IV. Fatal Frame mastermind Keisuke Kikuchi is producing the game, while RED Entertainment's Naoki Morita is serving as its director. Morita is a veteran member of the Sakura Taisen team. Yoshiteru Tsujino of Tengai Makyou (Far East of Eden) fame is responsible for Nostalgio no Kaze's concept art and character design. Keita Amemiya and Takuhito Kusanagi (Grandia) are serving as enemy and air ship designers.

The game tells the story of Eddy, a young man living in 19th century London. His father, a famous adventurer, has gone missing, and Eddy wants to find him. In Nostalgio no Kaze's world, adventurers don't walk, but rather move from point A to B onboard their airships.

The game's battle system supports up to four active party members. Each character will possess a special skill or weapon, which can be put to use in battle. Eddy will use his sword, while other characters will rely on guns or magic. In addition to character battles, the development team is also implementing airship battles.

Nostalgio no Kaze will be available in Japan this fall.
