03.15.08 - 5:03 PM

Sega has enlisted Obsidian Entertainment to develop Alpha Protocol for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC. The newest project developed by the makers of Star Wars Knights: of the Old Republic II The Sith Lords will be an RPG title set in a modern world of espionage. The game's protagonist is a young agent by the name of Michael Thorton. For a certain reason his former employer, an intelligence agency has come to view him as persona non grata. Luckily for him Thorton has in his possession information required to prevent an impeding international catastrophe. The player's decisions and actions throughout the game's various missions will determine what kind of secret agent the young man will eventually become. It goes without saying that Thorton's actions will also effect the future of Alpha Protocol's world.

While Sega and Obsidian have not shared a lot of details regarding the title's battle system, they promise "fast-paced modern combat".

Alpha Protocol will be available sometime in early 2009.
