All Final Fantasy Soundtracks Update
03.14.08 - 7:05 AM

There's so much in here, I can't even talk about it all. It's list time!

Chocobo's Mysterious Dungeon: Labyrinth of Forgotten Time - This OST contains arrangements from a number of classic FF titles. The review is written by Jeriaska, who recently conducted an interview with JOE DOWN studios (who did the music for this Wii title).

Final Fantasy IV (DS) - We have reviews for the OST and theme song single!

Before Crisis -Final Fantasy VII- - A soundtrack for a cell phone game? You betcha! It also comes with music from that "Last Order" anime short.

Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Ring of Fates - It's another OST / single duo-review! These come from our own Neal Chandran. Thanks Neal!

Distant Worlds: Music from Final Fantasy - Arnie Roth and crew have been touring the globe, performing FF music and other VGM for anyone willing to hear. This live recording from Stockholm, Sweden was released on CD for European listeners. We have a review.

And last but not least ...

"20th Anniversary A Tribute to Game -Sounds for Music- CD" - What is this doing here? Well, reader-reviewer "Zane" got a kick out of this very obscure soundtrack that Ayers printed in 1998 (apparently VGM goes back to 1978). One track on here, perhaps the most memorable, is an extremely elaborate arrangement of the "Prelude" theme music from the FF series.

We think this update has us generally caught up on our Final Fantasy music. Check back in a few weeks for our review of Yoko Shimomura's "drammatica" album, which will contain a bonus track from Final Fantasy Versus XIII! And if you're tired of the Square Enix's bestselling RPG series getting all the attention, know that we have plenty from the "old/obscure" pile coming your way, along with some "new/obscure" to spice things up. Be ready!
