Atlus USA has announced that they have reached an agreement with Microsoft to become an officially licensed third party publisher for the Xbox 360 console. With this news, Atlus has announced the North American release for two titles in 2008, Operation Darkness and Spectral Force 3.

Operation Darkness is an SRPG that places gamers in control of a force of elite during World War II in an attempt to stop Adolf Hitler... and his army of demons and supernatural creatures. While not much beyond the fact that the title is a tactics-style SRPG has been announced, Atlus USA has launched a teaser site for the game.

American gamers should be at least somewhat familiar with the name Idea Factory by now, as NIS America has released several of their titles in North America. It's Atlus' turn to take the torch on Microsoft's next generation console, however, as they now have Spectral Force 3 on their release schedule. Another Strategy-RPG, Spectral Force 3 follows a group of mercenaries during the Great Neverland War, and when the leader of the troupe is mortally wounded, it's up to the main character to take control. Atlus has launched a teaser site for this Idea Factory title, as well.

Both Spectral Force 3 and Operation Darkness are slated for release sometime in 2008.
