Starfish Announces New Dungeon Crawler
10.14.07 - 1:03 PM

Starfish is currently working on a new dungeon crawler for PlayStation 2. Titled Elminage: Yami no Miko to Kamigami no Yubiwa (The Priestresses of Darkness and the Rings of the Gods). Ken Miyauchi has been responsible for the game's monster designs. The music is composed by Hitoshi Sakimoto (Final Fantasy Tactics, Vagrant Story, Final Fantasy XII, etc.), Masaharu Iwata (Final Fantasy Tactics, Baroque, Fantasy Earth, etc.) and Mitsuhiro Kaneda (Wizardry Gaiden, Metal Slug 6, etc.).

The game allows players to choose among nine races and 16 different job classes, when creating their party of choice. Afterwards, 15 dungeons with various traps and monsters await. However, the trips into these dangerous mazes are not only about disposing of annoying opposition, but also about locating five rings. The party of heroes has been asked by none other than the king to retrieve those valuable objects. To pinpoint their exact location, the player can use a special compass. In four different towns, the party can rest, re-group and prepare for the next journey into the dungeon.

Elminage: Yami no Miko to Kamigami no Yubiwa will be available in Japan in January for 6,800 yen ($57.85 US).
