TGS: FFXI Wings of the Goddess Detailed
09.21.07 - 6:31 PM

Square Enix has released some information regarding the feature set of the upcoming fourth expansion pack of its flagship MMORPG Final Fantasy XI. The first new job featured in the expansion will apparently be the Dancer: at least, multiple Japanese news services have called it such. However, Square Enix has only shown images of this new job, and has not yet officially given the name, likely as it may be. Square Enix had previously announced that it would add at least two new jobs with this expansion.

Story-wise, Wings of the Goddess allows players to step beyond the limitations of time, and take part in the Crystal Wars between humans and the Shadow Lord's army of beastmen. This distant past, which will be implemented as a new map, will feature monsters that do not exist in present-day Vana'diel. Additionally, Square Enix promises to add several other new features with this newest expansion.

Final Fantasy XI: Wings of the Goddess will be available for PlayStation 2, PC and Xbox 360 in Japan on November 22nd. While the two console versions will retail for 7,800 yen ($67.60 USD), the PC version will be open priced.
