GungHo Enters Console Market
02.06.07 - 10:10 PM

In a recent interview GungHo Online Entertainment president Kazuki Morishita expressed his company's intention to enter the console gaming market. Today the company revealed that it has acquired a license from Nintendo, allowing it to develop games for Nintendo's highly popular DS handheld.

While best known for bringing popular PC-based MMO games, such as Ragnarok Online or A3 to Japan, GungHo also is the parent company of Grandia makers GameArts and Broccoli (best known for the popular Galaxy Angel series). Now GungHo itself has begun working on console games, and the company's ambitions are apparently not limited to the DS. Details regarding the DS game and GungHo's other console plans will only be revealed at a later point, though.
