Bandai Namco Reports Financials
11.10.06 - 3:48 PM

Bandai Namco Group announced today its financial results for the first six months of the current fiscal year. During the April to September period the company posted a net profit of 11.01 billion yen ($93.35 million USD) on sales of 206.6 billion yen ($1.75 billion USD). While the company could report a strong first half for its Toy and Hobby division as well as its movie and music business, Bandai Namco Games' results were less impressive. Instead of the originally projected sales of 62 billion yen ($525.69 million USD) and an operating profit of 2.5 billion yen ($21.20 million USD), the division only posted sales of 57 billion yen ($483.29 million USD) and an operating profit of 1.85 billion yen ($15.69 million USD). The company cited delays of several high profile games (such as the arcade version of Kidou Senshi Gundam: Senjou no Kizuna) as reasons for the lower-than-expected results.

For the full fiscal year, Bandai Namco projects an operating profit of 23.5 billion yen ($199.25 million USD) on sales of 470 billion yen ($3.99 billion USD).
