New Tenchi no Mon 2 Details Announced
10.16.06 - 10:52 PM

Sony Computer Entertainment today announced some new details regarding the upcoming sequel to last year's action RPG Tenchi no Mon (Kingdom of Paradise), titled Tenchi no Mon 2: Busouden. Today's update introduces two new characters: A wordly priest by the name of Sutta Monda, who likes alcohol and women. Purnapaine Borm is the kingdom's 23rd Empress. She is a wise lady who thinks first and foremost about the prosperity of her subjects. While her blindness prevents her from leaving the imperial palace, she is a strong-willed monarch willing to even break the law, if it is necessary to protect her kingdom.

In addition to protagonist Rou and the female lead Shunka, players will also be able to control other characters. They include the above mentioned Sutta, Shunka's older brother, Altai Kigyou, Cheena Outermill and the female soldier Kaara Kashuu. Because the spear-wielding Kaara uses generally prohibited poison in battle, she has many enemies.

The Climax-developed Tenchi no Mon 2 will support downloads via the PlayStation Portable's wireless LAN function. Sony Computer Entertainment promises to use this function to offer new quests and items for download following the game's release.

Tenchi no Mon 2: Busouden will be available in Japan later this week, on October 19th for 4,800 yen ($40.14 US).
