Oblivion Headed to PS3, PSP

In its newest issue, the Official PlayStation Magazine confirmed one of the most popular rumors of recent months: Bethesda Softworks' critically acclaimed next-generation RPG The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion is indeed scheduled to appear on PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Portable. The game's PlayStation 3 version will include various updates, such as a new faction known as Knights of the Nine, new characters, locations, armor, and weapons.

The PlayStation Portable release, thankfully, is more than a straight port. Titled The Elder Scrolls Travels: Oblivion, the game will take place in a different world and, at least judging from its title, will share some similarities with The Elder Scrolls Travels, which is available for Nokia's N-Gage handheld and mobile phones.

The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion for PlayStation 3 will go on sale alongside PlayStation 3 on November 17th. Meanwhile, The Elder Scrolls Travels: Oblivion will be available in Spring 2007.
