Bioware Opens Handheld Studio
09.20.06 - 1:37 AM

BioWare, the veteran RPG developer behind such great titles as NeverWinter Nights and Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic has announced that they have created a new handheld development team at their Edmonton headquarters. While nothing has yet been announced about the title, which will more than likely be an RPG, considering BioWare's last title to be anything else was 2000's MDK2, the team will be headed up by industry veteran Dan Tudge, former founder of Exile Interactive.

"We're thrilled to have Dan leading our new handheld group," said Ray Muzyka, CEO of BioWare. "Dan has an exceptional pedigree of game development, and we're excited to have him bring his proven track record of successful games to BioWare's new DS project!"

Only one BioWare title, their first, has managed to snag anything lower than an 80% aggregate on GameRankings.com, and all of us here at RPGFan are feverously awaiting BioWare's handheld title. Keep watch for future updates on this BioWare project.
