Atlus USA has announced that they will be bringing the Japanese title Sekaiju no Meikyuu stateside as Etrian Odyssey. The Nintendo DS title, directed by Trauma Center: Under the Knife's Kazuya Niinou, will feature story design by Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Summoner's Shigeo Komori, and sound design by Yuzo Koshiro, best known for his work on Actraiser and Streets of Rage.

"This game revitalizes the classic spirit of exploration and adventure for a new platform and a new audience," said Nich Maragos, project lead at Atlus USA for Etrian Odyssey. "The hand-drawn map feature along with the lush graphics will make gamers want to get lost in the striking forest world of Etria."

Etria is a small village in a vast and fertile land. It became famous for a single discovery: a crack in a vast forest that led into a gaping maw only known as the Labyrinth of Etria.

Etrian Odyssey is slated for a Q1 2007 release in North America for an MSRP of $29.99 USD, and while it has not yet been rated by the ESRB, Atlus USA is hoping for an E10+ or T rating.
