Want a Star Control 2 Sequel? E-Mail Toys for Bob!
04.14.06 - 10:13 PM

Alex Ness, a producer for Toys for Bob, developer of the original Star Control 2, is asking for the help of the fan community.

Ness wrote on a post in the Toys for Bob Blog, "We (I) want us to do a Star Control sequel, it's very hard to convince large publishing companies that a new Star Control would sell very well in the current video game market. But maybe, just maybe, if enough of you people out there send me e-mails requesting that Toys For Bob do a legitimate sequel to Star Control 2, I'll be able to show them to [Toys For Bob parent] Activision, along with a loaded handgun, and they will finally be convinced to roll the dice on this thing."

When contacted by RPGFan, Mr. Ness said that, "Anything you can do to convince your readers to send me similar messages would be beyond much appreciated. Hopefully, if I can just get enough of them, Activision will green light this baby."

As many of us here at RPGFan are big fans of the Star Control series, we'd love to see another game in the series. If you feel the same way, send your regards to Alex Ness at alexness@toysforbob.com. While we usually don't hold petitions in high regard here, as they rarely work, if it's done by the company behind the game that obviously wants to make a new game, we think there's a good chance it could happen. So send off your e-mails, and let's find us a sequel to the Ur-Quan.
