Nintendo Projects Higher Profits
04.04.06 - 11:50 PM

Nintendo today announced that it has revised its projections for the fiscal year that ended on March 31st. While sales projections remained unchanged at 500 billion yen ($4.23 billion US), Nintendo's consolidated net profit is now expected to reach 95 billion yen ($804.39 million US). The Kyoto-based company cited the continued success of the Nintendo DS in Japan and profit on currency exchange as reasons for the higher than expected profit. But not all was bright, as sales dropped by 3% on a year-to-year basis, as sales of the company's GameCube console remained sluggish during fiscal year 2005/2006.
