The Digital Contents Association awarded its Grand Prix 2005 awards during an award ceremony held in Tokyo today. While Square Enix's CG movie Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children did not manage to capture an award, Fukuoka-based development studio Level 5 received an Excellence in Digital Content Award for its critically acclaimed PlayStation 2 title Rogue Galaxy. Level 5 was "technologically and content-wise top notch", the selection committee explained.

Rogue Galaxy was released in Japan on December 6th 2005.

Another award for the creation of a service/system went to Rogue Galaxy's publisher Sony Computer Entertainment for its handheld system PlayStation Portable.
