Square Enix today announced that it has sold more than one million copies of its CG movie Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children. Following its September 14th release in Japan, it took the DVD and UMD versions of the movie sequel to the 1997 blockbuster Final Fantasy VII only three weeks to sell 700,000 copies. Producer Shinji Hashimoto said: "I'm extremely happy that we managed to achieve sales that can only be called wonderful in particular for an original movie title." Square Enix wanted to use the movie's success in Japan as the company moves towards bringing it to North America and Europe.
