Diablo Developers Delve Into New Company
11.29.05 - 1:47 AM

In the footsteps of the folks at Flagship Studios, developers of next year's Namco-published PC Action-RPG and Best PC RPG of E3 2005 winner Hellgate London, former Blizzard North employees have formed up Hyboreal Games. Hyboreal Games features former Diablo developers Michio Okamura, Eric Sexton, and Steven Woo heading up their creative team. Hyboreal has only announced the name for its new project, Starfall, and given out this statement: "We are not ready to release any information about our game, but stay tuned for upcoming announcements."

The game is definitely headed for a PC release, however, as one of Hyboreal's statements has been that "The target market for Hyboreal Games is the PC market. It's a proven market with past success that this team has years of expertise working in. Tailoring the game to hit low-end systems (the fastest growing PC market share) and laptop computers, allows for more sales in a larger well-established market. Surprisingly, this also brings less competition in an open market ripe with opportunity."

Starfall has not recieved a genre announcement yet, but keep your eyes peeled to RPGFan to see if the game is in the vein of Diablo.
