Namco x Capcom Soundtrack Review
10.12.05 - 3:04 PM

Namco x Capcom is a strategy RPG that features characters from classic Namco and Capcom games and series. The music for the game, obviously, contains arranged versions of songs from these classic games. Yours truly has written reviews for the Original Sound Track and the "Special" Sound Track of NxC. Special thanks goes to Ryan Mattich for an excellent translation of the complex tracklists accompanying these soundtracks.

Reader Ben Schweitzer gives the soundtracks section a second opinion on the Final Fantasy X-2 OST, now that the dust has settled and people have stopped bashing it on a regular basis. What are Ben's thoughts? Read on to find out.

Finally, we have an extra-special treat: not one, but two soundtrack reviews for the Super Famicom classic Lennus (known to US gamers as Paladin's Quest). I managed to get my hands on a promotional soundtrack entitled "Welcome to the Lennus World!", and Damian Thomas was lucky enough to find Future Land's print of the only for-sale Lennus album, which is an arranged album. Other than these rare CDs, the only place to hear music from Lennus is by finding the few orchestral arrangements on Orchestral Game Concerts 3, 4, and 5. These were rare but worthy finds, and we wish to share our knowledge of the music (and some of the music samples!) with you!

In coming weeks, there are plenty of oldschool and brand new soundtrack reviews in store! For now, we hope you'll be satisfied with these five soundtrack reviews. Thanks for reading, and remember that we're always willing to accept reader reviews!
