tri-Ace Soundtracks Update!
09.06.05 - 12:02 AM

September 6th marks the US release of Radiata Stories. To celebrate, RPGFan brings you reviews of both the OST (by Patrick Gann, which would be me) and Arranged Album (from reader-reviewer Daniel Space), as well as the "tri-Ace Sound Battle Collection" (from Mike Wilson) given out as a promotional item in Japan.

Now, while it's true that Noriyuki Iwadare composed Radiata Stories, we at the 'Fan Soundtracks thought it'd be good to also catch up on some older Star Ocean soundtrack releases from Motoi Sakuraba. As such, we have reviews for the following:

Star Ocean Soundtrack - The one that started it all on Super Famicom got a soundtrack release eight years after the game's release, thanks to Team Entertainment.

Star Ocean: Blue Sphere Arrange & Sound Trax - The game boy release had an arranged/OST double disc set, and Mike Wilson gives us the scoop on it.

Star Ocean & Valkyrie Profile Arrange The Best Plus - The name says it all. It's a "best of" album. It has arranged tracks. There are a few new songs here.

Motoi Sakuraba Live Concert - Star Ocean & Valkyrie Profile - This is a double-disc set of a live concert which is also available on DVD. I personally recommend this one.

So...there you have it. A massive update of tri-Ace goodies. We hope you, the ever-loyal readers, enjoy these reviews alongside our review of the PS2 RPG Radiata Stories, which, by the time you read this, will be available in stores. Enjoy!
