TGS 2005 Details Announced

The Japanese Computer Entertainment Supplier Association (CESA) today released first details regarding this year's editon of Tokyo Game Show. The world's second most important game industry trade fair behind the Electronic Entertainment Expo, will be held in Chiba prefecture's Makuhari Messe Nippon Convention Center from September 16th through 18th. The theme of Tokyo Game Show 2005 will be plain and simple: "Let's look into the Future".

As of today, 114 companies have declared their intention to take part in the show, with 21 coming from outside Japan. While all major Japanese third party publishers (Atlus, Capcom, Koei, Konami, Square Enix, Sega, Taito, D3 Publisher, Tecmo, Tomy, Namco and Bandai) as well as Sony Computer Entertainment and Microsoft have already confirmed their presence at the event, notable absentees so far include Nintendo and Electronic Arts.

Tickets for Tokyo Game Show 2005 will be available through Ticket Pia, Lawson Ticket and others beginning on July 17th. The entrance fee is 1,000 yen ($8.96 US). If a visitor decides to buy his or her ticket, only on the same day he or she visits the show, the ticket's price is 1,200 yen ($10.76 US). As always with Tokyo Game Show, the first day (September 16th) is business day, meaning only members of the industry and media representatives may enter.
