MMORPG Soundtracks Update
06.14.05 - 9:50 PM

I promised this day was coming, and now it is here. Seven MMORPG soundtracks to lead you to glory. You're probably wondering which seven we chose...well, here they are.

From Japan, we have soundtracks for Cross Gate, a Square-Enix-published PC game that very few people know about, reviewed by reader Derek Strange, and Phantasy Star Online, specifically, the arranged CD for Episode I & II, and the OST for Episode III, reviewed by myself. Oh yes, there's also Nobunaga's Ambition Online ~Chapter of Hiryu~, since we can't leave KOEI out of the mix. What's that, now, four reviews? Three to go.

We have two from Korea: GungHo's Ragnarok Online, reviewed by yours truly, and Softmax's TalesWeaver, reviewed by reader Connary. The TalesWeaver Original Soundtrack is an extra-special treat, as this review is probably the first time the music (and the tracklist) are brought to an English audience. I like to consider it an exclusive, and I'd like to thank Connary for putting a lot of work into this one for us.

Finally, we have one from America: you guessed it, World of Warcraft. This soundtrack is reviewed by a reader who is especially fond of the game, one Robert Miller. He takes the music from the game and describes it within the game's context: this is one review you ought to read.

Consider this update "part one" of the MMORPG soundtracks frenzy: we still have a few more to bring to you, including the soundtrack for EverQuest II.

In the meantime, there is a whole stockpile of reviews waiting to be published on the site, including music from Falcom, NIS, and GameArts' Lunar series (in celebration of the upcoming DS title, of course). If you have something you'd like to review, regardless of whether we already have a review for it on the soundtracks section, just drop an email on by, and we'll consider what you have to offer. Enjoy!
