Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children Limited Edition Announced

The online shop of Japanese video, music and game rental and retail chain Tsutaya is now listing the limited edition of Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children. One of the most expensive such special editions released in Japan over the last couple of years, it will carry a price tag of 29,500 yen ($274.83 USD). For reference, the suggested retail price for limited editions normally ranges from 8,800 yen ($81.98 USD) to 12,800 yen ($119.25 USD) in Japan. The movie's standard edition will go on sale for 4,800 yen ($44.72 USD). Please note that those prices refer to the DVD version of the CG movie, release details for the UMD version have yet to be announced.

The content of the limited edition's DVD will look as follows:
-Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children movie (length: 97 minutes)
-Final Fantasy VII Digest (length: 30 minutes)
-Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children Official trailer (length: 2 minutes)
-Compilation of Final Fantasy VII Trailer (length: 10 minutes)

Furthermore, this box set will ship with the following items:
-A figure set of Cloud and his motorcycle
-A special DVD featuring the following contents:
-Last Order Final Fantasy VII OVA
-Making-Of footage
-Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children Venice Film Festival trailer
-Various other Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children trailers
-A voice recording-enabled libretto replica
-A cup
-A t-shirt
-A key holder
-PlayStation One RPG Final Fantasy VII International (this four-disc set will come in a special packaging)

Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children for DVD will be available in Japan on September 14th, with a US release scheduled the same day. It remains to be seen whether the limited edition will be available outside Japan, however. Additionally, no official price has been set for the US DVD or UMD versions of the movie. EBGames has tentatively put the cost for the DVD movie at $49.99 USD, and GameStop at $29.99 USD.
