New Fire Emblem GC Details Revealed
02.22.05 - 4:12 PM

Nintendo has revealed some new information regarding its upcoming GameCube title Fire Emblem: Souen no Kiseki. The Intelligent Systems-developed strategy RPG will feature a new deathblow system. Once a character's HP drops below 50% of his or her maximum HP, the possibility that he or she can unleash a powerful deathblow attack will increase significantly. These attacks will be so powerful, that even one of them is capable of killing an enemy. Characters who have acquired the consecutive skill will be able to pull off two chain attacks, thereby doubling the amount of damage dealt to an enemy. Another neat addition is ambush, which allows players to strike pre-emptively before their foe even has a chance to attack them. Provoke will entice an enemy to focus his attacks on the character carrying this skill.
In addition to these skills, four new characters were revealed: The female fencer Wayu, the sniper Chinon, the soldier Nefenie and the heavily-armed warrior Gatly.

Fire Emblem: Souen no Kiseki will be available in Japan on April 20th.
