Development of True Fantasy Live Online to Resume?
01.05.05 - 12:25 PM

In a recent interview with Japanese publication Dorimaga, Level 5 president Akihiro Hino talked about True Fantasy Live Online, the Xbox MMORPG which was cancelled in June 2004 following a long series of delays. Hino mentioned one of the reasons behind the cancellation was the apparently problematic relationship with Microsoft Game Studios. However, he hinted that the game might be completed after all, without specifically saying on which platform. The probability that it will end up on PlayStation 2 and PC is rather strong, though, according to Hino.

Since its foundation seven years ago, Fukuoka-based Level 5 has become one of the most critically acclaimed development studios in Japan. In addition to Sony Computer Entertainment's Dark Cloud I and II, the company has also developed this hardware generation's most successful title, Dragon Quest VIII: Sora to Umi to Norowareshi Himegimi for Square Enix. Currently, Level 5 is working on an original RPG title for PlayStation Portable.
