Gung Ho Online Entertainment has hold a press conference in the Elephant Cafe located in Tokyo's Shibuya District to commemorate the commencing of Tantra's Japanese open beta testing phase tomorrow. The Hindu mythology-based MMORPG, which has been developed by South Korean MMORPG developer and publisher Hanbit Soft, is the newest addition to Gung Ho's growing line-ups of PC-based MMORPGs in Japan. When customizing their character, players will be able to choose among five different hair styles and five different types of faces, including some very exotic hairstyles and cat ears. First screenshots shown at the event also showed some of the huge oriental buildings and environments as well as towering monsters, called Maara, which the players will fight. Furthermore, it was revealed that game's main theme in Japan will be Gandhara, performed by Godiego.

Tantra has yet to receive an official release date in Japan.
