TGS: Hudson Opens Rengoku: The Tower of Purgatory Website
09.26.04 - 10:28 PM

After showing off the game at Tokyo Game Show, Hudson has opened the official website for its PlayStation Portable launch title Rengoku: The Tower of Purgatory. While only a few sections are available so far, fans can at least check out an official Tokyo Game Show trailer and get some information on character designer Jun Suemi. In the game's post-apocalyptic world, wars have been fought for ages and people have long forgotten the reasons which led to their beginning. To reduce the cost of war, proxies were created to continue fighting the war. But their sole purpose was fighting. What was controlling them was the pure, unlimited reason of existence. As the mouthpieces of man countless battle, machines of different types were roaming the battle fields. Man himself disappeared from the battle field. At one point, countless weapons began hunting their own kind. The machines began destroying themselves entirely and there was no way to stop them, until a new revolutionary man-made warrior, standing at the top of steel, gunpowder and food chain was created. Called ADAM, these warriors were not only given the strongest unbreakable shields, but were also capable of self-recovery. No matter how difficult the situation on the battlefield was, their superior artificial intelligence always provided them with the best solution. Whereever they walked, the only thing left were huge scars in the landscape. Soon there were no enemies left. But with man's victory, the ADAMs had outlived their raison d'etre and their power was no longer needed.

Rengoku: The Tower of Purgatory will be available alongside PlayStation Portable in Japan later this year.
