Nintendo Announces Q4 Software Lineup
08.27.04 - 1:16 AM

Nintendo of America has announced the fourth quarter 2004 release schedule for the GameCube and Game Boy Advance. While a fairly extensive list (which you can access by way of the link below), those that fall within our realm of coverage are as follows:

GameCube
Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door - Nintendo, October 11
Baten Kaitos: Eternal Wings and the Lost Ocean - Namco, November 16

Game Boy Advance
Zelda II: The Adventure of Link (Classic NES Series 2) - Nintendo, October 25
Final Fantasy I & II: Dawn of Souls - Nintendo, November 29
Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories - Square Enix, Holiday 2004

Worth noting are the additions of the Japanese subtitles to the GameCube releases, formerly known here simply as "Paper Mario 2" and "Baten Kaitos" respectively. It's unknown if they're only listed here with their subtitles, or if they will be released as such too, as all promotional material for the games only display the main title.

It seems the GBA remakes of Final Fantasy I & II have finally appeared in a US release list after subtlety being shown at E3 this year. In addition, the dual-game cart will be published by Nintendo here, who also published two other Square Enix GBA games last year.

Also from Square Enix, seeing Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories listed for 2004 is somewhat of a surprise, given the game's Japanese release of mid-November. Seems like a tight schedule to make...

Finally, it was expected for the last couple months that the Capcom-developed GBA title The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap would make a late 2004 release here. However, the game is absent from the lineup and is now expected in early or spring 2005 soon before the yet-untitled GameCube Zelda - which is what Nintendo announced in May in the first place.
