Square Enix Re-Shuffles Management
07.03.04 - 1:50 AM

Square Enix has revealed its newest management re-shuffle, as president Youichi Wada has taken over the role of CEO of the company's American subsidary, Los Angeles, California-based Square Enix, while retaining his position as president of its Japanese parent company. Long-time CEO Jun Iwasaki and Ichirou Otobe have been appointed chief operating officers in charge of video game and mobile content business for the North American branch. Wada stated that with this newest reorganization, his company would be even better prepared to realize its ambitious vision of Polymorphic Content.

The move follows the appointment of former Atlus executive Jun Yamamoto as head of the London-based European division and the transfer of vice president Keiji Honda to Shanghai, from where he will oversee the company's expanding Chinese operations. Additionally, the company had already revealed name changes for its two largest subsidaries (formerly known as Square Enix USA and Square Enix Europe) in order to strengthen the awareness of Square Enix as a global brand.
