E3: Beast Deity Impressions
05.16.04 - 5:49 AM

Easyfun Entertainment, based out of Taipei, Taiwan, is releasing an Asian MMORPG called Beast Deity. Based on ancient Chinese legends, Beast Deity takes place on two planets rotating around each other. Beast Deity's characters are one of six tribes: Dragon, Dog, Monkey, Ox, Tiger, or Hawk. Characters initially start out as a small animal of their tribe, but eventually level up to human form. Characters' appearances are completely changeable, with over 500 pieces of equipment with a unique look. Different creatures in-game have unique reactions as well.

Easyfun's biggest goal was to have a good-looking RPG running on a low-spec PC. They have succeeded with this goal, having a fully-3D, toon-shaded RPG that runs on a Pentium 3 450 mHz with a TNT2 video card. Weather effects and an improved 'cartoon engine' are also included. Another major importance to Beast Deity is the ability for a higher level character to adopt a lower level character or a monster as a pet. Easyfun's Beast Deity is still in early stages and a US release date has yet to be set.
