Hudson Announces Mobile Tengai Makyou
04.05.04 - 5:42 PM

Hudson has rolled out its first MMORPG for NTT DoCoMo's new FOMA 900i series cell phone models. Titled Mobile Tengai Makyou (Far East of Eden), the game's concept was written by series mastermind Ouji Hiroi. While the game is generally reminiscent of its console-based cousins, it marks the first time Tengai Makyou goes online. By using a message board-style system, players can communicate with their fellow users. Mobile Tengai Makyou takes its player to an Edo (the city which eventually became Tokyo) featuring elements of past and present. Starting out at the protagonist's home in Shiroshita Machi, it will also take you to Fukagawa, Ikebukuro, Ginza and Asakusa. On your journies through Edo you will eventually run into familiar faces from previous series installments. In typical MMORPG genre fashion, you create original characters whose looks can be influenced by eight different parameters. Apart from the actual game application, Hudson has also implemented various other fan services, such as downloadable melodies, wallpapers and a novel by Ouji Hiroi.

Available since yesterday in Japan, Mobile Tengai Makyou carries a monthly service fee of 525 yen ($5.02 US).
