03.25.04 - 10:43 AM

Last night the winners of this year's Game Developers Choice Awards were announced in a ceremony in the San Jose Civic Auditorium, as part of the 2004 edition of the annual Game Developers Conference. Just like at the Academy of Interactive Arts and Sciences' DICE awards earlier this month, the winner was Bioware's highly acclaimed RPG Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic for PC and Xbox. Apart from the Game of the Year award, the title also received awards in the categories Original Game Character of The Year and Excellence in Writing.

In addition, the Excellence in Visual Arts award went to Kyoto, as Nintendo's Masanao Arimoto, Yoshiki Haruhana and Satoru Takizawa received the award for their work on The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker.
