Tokyo Game Show 2004 Details Announced
02.25.04 - 3:20 PM

The Japanese Computer Entertainment Suppliers Association (CESA) has announced that this year's edition of Tokyo Game Show will open its doors on September 24th and run through September 26th. This year CESA aims for visitor numbers exceeding 150,000, as well as 120 exhibiting companies. The organizers not only want to continue to lure more foreign exhibitors to Tokyo, but are also planning to increase promotions aimed at visitors from abroad. Furthermore, they are seeking an increased presence by companies showing off online games, cell-phone based software, peripherals as well as development tools. To make the show more family-friendly, a kids corner will be set up. On the business day (traditionally the show's first day, when only members of the press and industry representatives are allowed in) the TGS Forum's program will be strengthened.

Since its 1996 debut, Tokyo Game Show has established itself as the world's second-largest video game trade fair, behind the annual Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) held each May in Los Angeles, California. Like in the years before, TGS 2004 will take place in Chiba's Makuhari Messe.
