Pokémon Fire Red & Leaf Green Details, Pictures
01.05.04 - 7:17 PM

Some new information and pictures have been unveiled on the upcoming GBA Pokémon titles: Pocket Monster Fire Red and Pocket Monster Leaf Green, which will be released on the 29th of this month in Japan. The games are remakes of the original first two games: Pocket Monster Red and Green - although the US and Europe had an initial Red/Blue release, Green and Red are actually the first games to have been released in Japan, Blue following a few months later. Just like in the original games, the games will take place in Kanto and the player will have to choose his initial Pokémon from one of the first three originally available. A new option is the ability to choose between a male and female trainer at the beginning of the game.

Both games will ship with a Wireless Adaptor, a new GBA peripheral that will allow players to get together in the game's "union room", in which they'll be able to chat, among other options. A "help" feature and a "summary" showing the major steps of the adventure so far will be added. The new Pokemon zukan (Pokédex) will also feature a search engine. The game will be priced at 4800 yen and there is no word on a US release yet. In the meanwhile, you can check out 33 screen shots, some artwork and the official packaging for the games.
