It's been revealed that Square Enix has registered ActRaiser as a trademark at the US Patent and Trademark Office as of last month. ActRaiser and ActRaiser 2 for the Super Famicom/Super Nintendo were published by Enix and released in Japan, North America and Europe in 1990 and 1993 respetively. Both games sold a combined total of 800,000 copies worldwide.

No word yet on what Square Enix may do with this new trademark, but we'll be sure to post any follow-ups in the future.
